In a dramatic turn of events, a major disaster was narrowly averted when authorities discovered a dangerous plot to sabotage the Kalindi Express. The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) sprang into action as a sinister plan to derail the train was foiled, revealing a chilling conspiracy that could have resulted in a catastrophic accident.
In a high-stakes scenario, the Kalindi Express, en route from Prayagraj to Bhiwani, narrowly escaped disaster early Monday morning. Railway authorities stumbled upon a sabotage attempt when they found LPG cylinders and other inflammable materials strategically placed on the Kanpur-Kasganj railway track at Barrajpur-Uttarpura.
The alarming discovery was made late Sunday night, with the potentially deadly plot coming to light after a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder and a glass bottle filled with petroleum were found on the tracks. Additional flammable materials were discovered in a nearby bag, intensifying fears of a planned derailment.
The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), led by Inspector General Neelabja Chaudhary, promptly arrived at the scene around 11 AM to launch a full-scale investigation. “We are probing every angle and the forensic team is meticulously analyzing the evidence,” Chaudhary stated. The focus of the investigation includes determining whether this incident was part of a broader scheme or an isolated act.
Over 12 suspects have been detained for questioning by local police, with Assistant Police Commissioner Ajay Trivedi noting that CCTV footage from surrounding areas is being scrutinized to track any suspicious activities prior to the incident. Additionally, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Vijendra Dwivedi confirmed that a multi-agency probe is in progress to uncover more details and identify whether an organized group or individual actors are behind the plot.
