In a significant move to curb illegal activities, Punjab Police has booked 18 travel agents for unlawfully advertising employment opportunities on social media. This comes amid a broader effort to crack down on fraudulent travel agencies exploiting job seekers.
CHANDIGARH: On Sunday, Punjab Police announced the booking of 18 travel agents for illegally promoting employment opportunities on social media platforms. This action is part of an ongoing crackdown aimed at curbing the activities of rogue travel agents. Earlier in August, at least 20 FIRs were registered against 25 such illegal travel agencies.
The police's swift action highlights the growing concern over the exploitation of job seekers by unscrupulous agents promising overseas employment. These agents often lure individuals with the promise of lucrative jobs abroad, only to leave them stranded and financially drained.
